Chennai Airport Terminal 1

Chennai International Airport Terminal 1 is the domestic terminal at Chennai Airport, also known as Kamaraj Terminal.

Please note that both the Domestic Terminal 1 and the International Terminal 3 are located within the same terminal complex.

Levels

Chennai International Airport Terminal Complex has 48 check-in counters in total.

Boarding gates are distributed in two levels: Six are in the ground level and three in the first level.

Services are available at the different areas of the terminal complex.

Transfer between terminals

Passengers may transfer between the International Terminals and the Domestic Terminal by a link building, which consists into a flyover travellator to joint both terminals.

Transportation is also done by golf carts. Frequency every 10 - 20 minutes.

There is a plan to redevelop the moving walkway as a part of the second phase of the airport redevelopment.  

It is also planned to connect the airport terminals with the metro and train station and also with the multi-level park, which is planned to be constructed in the upcoming years.

The distance between Terminals 1 & 3 to Terminal 4 is about 1 km.
