Chennai Airport Terminals
Chennai Airport Terminals are three: The international terminals (Terminal 3 and Terminal 4), and the Domestic Terminal (Terminal 1):
Terminal 1
Chennai Airport Terminal 1 is the domestic terminal, also known as Kamaraj Terminal, which used to be the single passenger terminal before 1988 when the International “Anna” Terminal was opened.
This terminal connects Chennai International Airport with 20 different domestic destinations within India.
It hosts both domestic arrivals and departures.

Terminal 3
Chennai Airport Terminal 3, also known as Anna Terminal, was built back in 1988 after the opening of the Domestic Terminal known as Kamaraj Terminal.
It is home of the International Arrivals.
Terminal 3 connects the city of Chennai with over 20 destinations worldwide.
Terminal 4
Chennai Airport Terminal 4 is the new International Terminal which opened its gates in late 2017.
All the International flights take off at Terminal 4.
It is expected that in the near future all international operations will be served from this terminal.
(After the completion of the new integrated terminal, Terminal 3 will become a domestic terminal).
Transfer between terminals
Passengers may transfer between the International Terminals and the Domestic Terminal by a link building, which consists into a flyover travellator to joint both terminals.
Transportation is also done by golf carts. Frequency every 10 - 20 minutes.
There is a plan to redevelop the moving walkway as a part of the second phase of the airport redevelopment.
It is also planned to connect the airport terminals with the metro and train station and also with the multi-level park, which is planned to be constructed in the upcoming years.
The distance between Terminals 1 & 3 to Terminal 4 is about 1 km.
